2012 WCRC Retreat
The 2nd Annual WCRC Scientific Retreat was held on September 7th-8th 2012 at the Nemacolin Woodlands Resort in Farmington, PA. We had 125 participants and we were excited to have William C. Hahn, MD, PhD, Associate Professor of Medicine, Harvard Medical School, Director, Center for Cancer Genome Discovery, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute as our keynote speaker. Dr. Hahn is a world-renowned expert in the area of genomics in breast and ovarian cancer, with a focus on converting knowledge of genetic alterations into the foundation for new cancer therapies.
For 2012, awards were presented for best oral presentation and best posters. The retreat also featured a successful 5K Fun Run at the beautiful grounds of Nemacolin Woodlands.
2011 WCRC Retreat
The 1st WCRC retreat was held on May 6th-7th 2011 at the Fox Chapel Golf club (Friday) and Magee-Womens Research Institute (Saturday) in Pittsburgh. We had 90 participants, and the retreat was a big success. Our keynote Speaker was Matthew J. Ellis, MD, PhD, the Anheuser-Busch Chair in Medical Oncology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.
