The focus of the Journal Club is to discuss the most exciting findings in women’s cancer research, report on related topics, and to stimulate interactions between basic, translational, and clinical researchers. The general theme will be translational research, discussing papers that give biological and mechanistic insight into clinical observations, with the goal of stimulating new thoughts on research programs in the WCRC.

Location: Hemingway's Cafe in Oakland at 3911 Forbes Avenue (Back room).
Presenters: Ryan Hartmeier will present on the recent publication of whole exome sequencing of the NCI-60 cell line panel including the major findings/implications from this study and outline the tools available to use this data as a resource.
The WCRC Journal Club resumes September 25, 2013. The journal clubs will be held every last Wednesday of the month (with the exception of November & December, it will be a week early).

Format: will be a 'round table discussion' with no slides...'presenters' will be more like discussion leaders giving a summary of the paper, explaining key points, and bringing prepared discussion points/questions to stimulate groups discussion
