Overview

The overall goal of the MCCBP, a basic research program, is to gain new insight into the molecular and cellular basis of cancer development and progression that can eventually be translated into new biomarkers of progression and treatment regimens. The specific aims of the program are to:

  • Elucidate mechanisms of genome stability
  • Improve understanding of hormone signaling in cancer
  • Investigate the role of different carbon sources in tumor bioenergetics
  • Analyze programed cell death pathways
  • Provide a capacity building and strong training environment

MCCBP investigators are engaged in research within the following themes:

  1. Genomic Stability
  2. Hormones and Signal Transduction
  3. Mitochondria and Metabolism
  4. Capacity Building
