LUMINEX (Bio-Plex) Workstation

The LUMINEX Facility is equipped with the Bio-Plex reader (Luminex 100) which uses microfluidics to align the microspheres into single file and employs two lasers, one for the detection of the fluorescent microsphere and the other for the reporter reagent. The optics system captures the fluorometric signals which are translated into numerical data via digital signal processing. Finally, the microplate interface allows for walk-away operation.
