Shared Resources at UPCI
At UPCI, Shared Facilities play a key role in supporting cancer research, often with cutting edge and high cost technology, while containing cost. All UPCI Programs use shared resources to enhance their research activities. Examples of the types of services provided include:
- access to high tech, cutting edge equipment for molecular and cellular genomics and proteomics analysis as well as bioinformatics support
- customized services for DNA, protein, and animal studies
- molecular imaging and analytical services using cells, tissues, animals, and human subjects for preclinical and clinical studies
- clinical trial support, including assistance with study design, biostatistical analysis, managing study progress, and monitoring participant safety
- drug development, cell production for cellular therapy trials, and patient monitoring services
- system-wide tissue banking services, including: honest broker services, tissue acquisition, histology services, and pathology analysis coordinated to ensure HIPPA compliance
