Membership in UPCI Protocol Review Committee

Committees A and B each meet once a month in order to facilitate prompt review of cancer treatment protocols. Committee C, chaired by Dr. Andrew Baum and is responsible for reviewing all behavioral and cancer epidemiology, cancer control, and complementary medicine protocols. This committee meets on an as needed basis since the volume of these protocols is usually low and they are presented for review on an irregular basis. Membership on each of committees A and B is drawn broadly from UPCI members, with representation by hematologist-oncologists from the academic and clinical faculty, surgical oncology representatives, biostatisticians, leaders of the UPCI/UPMC Cancer Centers outpatient services, and members of the basic cancer research community. Membership on Committee C draws broadly from UPCI members with expertise in behavioral psychology, cancer control, cancer epidemiology, biostatistics, hematology/oncology, chemoprevention, and complementary medicine.
