Equipment
Equipment in the IML includes a Beckman-Coulter 5-color FC500 flow cytometer, a Bio-Rad Bio-Plex Luminex instrument, Coulter Z1 particle counters, Zeiss Elispot plate readers, a Dynex ELISA plate reader, beta- and gamma-counters, a Packard Top Count NXT model Microplate Scintillation and Luminescence Counter, as well as a Nexcelom Bioscience cellometer. Instruments and other equipment are calibrated and checked at regular intervals as specified in by the laboratory policy for preventive maintenance. Calibration of thermometers and all micro- pipettors is also performed in accordance with guidance specified by the laboratory policy. All freezers and incubators are monitored 24 hours a day by dataloggers. Other temperatures are monitored manually with records on display for verification purposes. Documentation of all equipment calibration and standardization is maintained in the IML.
