BSL2+ Facilities at Hillman Cancer Center - Research Pavilion

The Hillman BSL-3 facility (Rm 1.18) is available as a BSL-2+ environment to qualified UPCI investigators having a demonstrated need for this level of containment. The BSL3 facility is managed by Dr. Patrick Moore.
To use this facility, send an email to Dr. Patrick Moore (psm9@pitt.edu) stating your scientific need and your expected required usage. Since only two investigators can use this facility simultaneously, use must be time-constrained and restricted only to experiments requiring BSL-2+ environment. In addition to completing the required paperwork and getting institutional approval, designated investigators must complete a brief orientation before use and are responsible for all glassware and media.
The laboratory is on a recorded card-key access. Sign-in time logs will be available in the laboratory and must be completed. Access will become restricted again in the future if this facility is required for BSL-3 level pathogen culture. See the contact page for further scheduling information.
