Training Programs

UPCI offers a number of training programs and fellowships in conjunction with related schools within the University of Pittsburgh.

The Hematology/Oncology Fellowship is a three-year program that provides advanced clinical and laboratory training leading to American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) board eligibility in hematology and medical oncology. More information is available at the University of Pittsburgh Department of Medicine website.

The Cancer Epidemiology and Cancer Control and Prevention Program provides two parts: a series of didactic courses, and a multi-year, long-term, dual-mentored research experience. More information is available at the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public Health website.

The Cancer Education and Career Development Training Program is designed for Fellows previously trained in areas such as biochemistry, cancer biology, genetics, molecular biology, or medicine to receive formal training in bioinformatics, biostatistics, cancer biology and biomarkers, epidemiology, and human genetics, followed by research projects in the areas of early diagnosis and detection of cancer or cancer prevention, utilizing both state-of-the-art molecular methods and population-based translational research.
