The UPCI is the only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center in western Pennsylvania. Since 1985, the UPCI has been committed to improving the understanding of how cancer develops; to characterizing new lifesaving approaches for cancer prevention, detection, diagnosis and treatment; and to educating future generations of scientists and clinicians. This site presents many of the research activities at UPCI and describes the academic, educational and institutional environment of the cancer center.

Long-term cell phone use linked to possible adverse
More than 100 physicians and scientists from around the country will discuss the latest findings in pancreatic research at PancreasFest 2008 at the Hillman Cancer Center July 24 through 26.
In addition to the area of lymphatic malignancies, UPCI and the CIO will work to establish joint clinical trials focused initially on lung cancer and melanoma.
